Flower Painting

IMG_1246_SmallFinished up this little guy this morning.  It’s inspired from a drawing I did a few years ago during some difficult health struggles. In my sketch book I titled the drawing ‘To See’ and I don’t quite remember why, something that made sense at the time, but now I think I’ll just call it ‘Seen’. A past tense – a feeling of finally being on the other side of it all. 🙂

This painting is available to purchase, contact me if you’re interested.IMG_1247_SmallIMG_7035

Riverview Sunflower – acrylic on canvas – 24″ x 24″

Sunflowers always pop up in my art – I can’t seem to help myself… Let’s be honest though, who doesn’t find them cheerful?! And at this time of year they are an especially sweet reminder of summertime. This painting is inspired from a photo I took in my back yard this past summer and the painting will be another addition a to the series I’m creating for the cafe ‘Break in Time‘.IMG_9677_SmallI did a sketch first – which I like to try to do as much as possible. Always seems to make thing flow smoother once I paint.SunflowerSketch_SmallIMG_2098_SmallIMG_2099_SmallIMG_2221_SmallIMG_2228_SmallIMG_2231_SmallRiverviewSunflower_24x24_acryliconcanvas_2016_SmallI am happy with it in the end I feel like the sunflower pops right out at the viewer. I hope you enjoyed stopping by here.
